Ingredients for making Mawa Modak:
- a bowl of mawa
- a cup of milk
- 4 to 5 cashews
- 4 to 5 almonds
- 6 to 7 pistachios
- 4 to 5 cardamoms
- Half cup powdered sugar
- Saffron
- 2 spoons ghee
Method to make Mawa Modak:
Mawa Modak: First of all, grate the Mawa or grind it with your hands. After grinding the Mawa, take a cup of hot milk, add saffron to the hot milk, and keep it aside.
Now place a pan on the gas add one spoon of ghee to the pan and let it heat. After the ghee gets heated, add the Mawa crushed with your hands or grated Mawa.
Now mix the Mawa well and keep the gas on medium. Keep stirring the Mawa with the help of a spoon, otherwise, the Mawa may stick to the pan and burn. If the Mawa sticks to the pan and burns, then the smell of burning may come from the Mawa. Therefore, keep stirring the Mawa again and again.
And now when the Mawa starts melting, add saffron milk and mix well. Now after some time, the Mawa will start thickening. Keep in mind that you should neither keep the Mawa too thin nor too thick.
And now after the Mawa thickens, see if a small ball is formed with your hands or not. If a ball is formed then the Mawa for Modak is ready. Now turn off the gas and take out the Mawa in a plate.
Now take out the Mawa on a plate and let it cool for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes, add chopped cashews, chopped almonds, chopped pistachios, and grind cardamom and make powder and add it to the male and also add powdered sugar. And mix it well.
Now let the Mawa mixture cool completely. After the Mawa cools down, take the Modak mold and apply ghee to the Modak mold. Now take the Mawa mixture make it a round shape with your hands and put it in the mold.
And now after putting it in the mold, close the mold tightly with your hands and gently take out the Mawa Modak on a plate. Make all the Modaks in the same way and keep the plate.
