How to make Dhokla Recipe :

Dhokla: Everyone likes it very much and it does not take much time to make Dhokla and it is tasty to eat.

You can make Dhokla at home when you feel hungry for breakfast or you want to make breakfast for your children’s school tiffin or you want to take it with you while traveling.

If you make it in this way, it will become very soft and spongy which will be liked by everyone. You don’t need much effort, you can cook and eat it in a short time.

Making it is not a difficult task if you read this method carefully then you can make a soft and spongy Dhokla recipe at your home. So let’s learn the method of making Dhokla without delay

Very few ingredients are needed to make Dhokla, these ingredients are usually available at home, so there is no need to buy them from outside.

Ingredients to make Dhokla:

  • besan – 200 grams
  • Curd – 150 grams
  • lemon juice one teaspoon
  • oil one spoon
  • salt to taste
  • baking soda one teaspoon
  • turmeric powder one teaspoon
  • For Tempering:
  • oil one spoon
  • Green chilies 7-8 (sliced ​​lengthwise)
  • Curry leaves – 10-12
  • mustard one spoon
  • sugar one teaspoon
  • to decorate:
  • Green coriander 1 cup

Method to make Dhokla :

Sieve the besan in a bowl. Now add curd, salt, turmeric powder, 1 teaspoon oil, and lemon juice and mix it for 1 minute. Now add water little by little and make a smooth batter (the batter should not be too thin or too thick) Now keep the batter aside for half an hour to set.

Better is getting set till then let’s prepare further. First, grease a bowl with oil so that the dhokla does not stick to the bottom. Now put two bowls of water in a pan and keep the stand. Now heat the water on high to medium flame till it starts boiling.

Now roll the gram flour batter once more with a spoon. Now put baking soda in this batter and add one teaspoon of water and stir the batter for 1 minute.

Now you will see that the batter has puffed up, now immediately put it in a utensil greased with oil and keep it on the stand in the pan.

Cover the lid over the pan and cook for 15-20 minutes. Open it after the fixed time and check by inserting a knife. If the knife comes out clean, then understand that the Dhokla is well made, if the batter is sticking to the knife, then cook for two to three more minutes. Now take out the utensil and let it cool down a bit.

After it cools down, cut the dhokla into medium pieces with a knife. Now our Dhokla is ready.

Tadka :

Put oil in a small pan, after the oil is hot, add mustard seeds, after the mustard seeds crackle, add green chilies and fry them lightly, now add half a cup of water (100 grams of water) to this spice, also add salt and sugar.

Turn off the gas when it starts boiling, and add lemon juice. Pour this tempering all over the dhokla with a spoon. Garnish with green coriander or grated coconut on top. Serve and eat hot, fresh gram flour dhokla.

Similar Dhokla is available in the market, but instead of lemon, tartaric acid is used to make it, if you want, you can also use tartaric acid.
